A Chinese Dagger, And A Persian All-Steel Jambiya
The Second Qajar, Late 19th Century

The first with fullered blade double-edged at the curved point, silver hilt comprising ovoidal guard and curved rounded pommel both decorated with silver filigree foliage partly polychrome enamelled and set with pink and turquoise beads in imitation of corals and turquoises, in original gilt-metal scabbard en suite and set with two engraved mother-of-pearl roundels on each side, chape with a carved mutton-fat jade roundel on each side and with dragon-head terminal, and pierced scrolled suspension mount with two rings for suspension; the second with sharply pointed curved fullered blade chiselled with foliage centred on a gold-damascened quartrefoil on both sides of the forte, swelling grip en suite and inhabited by pairs of birds at the base on each side, and silver-damascened bird's head pommel, in original wood-lined scabbard en suite with the hilt (2)
