The first with broad curved blade (polished overall, some pitting) double-edged towards the point, fullered along the back-edge for most of its length on each side, and struck with an ownership (?) mark inscribed 'Shah Jahan' on one side of the forte, chiselled iron hilt (loose) of characteristic form retaining traces of silver-damascened decoration and comprising langets with pierced foliate tips, button quillons, knuckle-guard with bud-shaped finial, and large disc-shaped pommel pierced with holes; the second with curved blade notched along the back, serrated at the point, and cut with horizontal flutes along its entire length on each side, the forte on one side stamped with an oval mark containing Arabic calligraphy, and characteristic hilt without knuckle-guard decorated overall with damascened gold foliage (worn) (2)
