The blade with two mekugi-ana cut on each side with a broad hi filled with a gilt plate engraved with a dragon amidst clouds against a stippled ground, midare hamon (rubbed and stained), the tsuka and saya decorated with Ho-ho birds, dragons and Tokugawa mon in clouds in polychrome enamels against a deep green ground speckled with gold, the aoi-shaped tsuba decorated with Ho-ho birds (kabuto-gane, semegane and kojiri missing)
