With robust finely watered single-edged blade (some areas of minor rust patination) finely inlaid on one side towards the forte with a shaped gold-inlaid cartouche enclosing dated gold-inlaid Arabic inscription, a gold-inlaid talismanic square (beduh) above, regulation gilt-brass mounted mameluke hilt including quillons cast with foliage and a crossed sword and baton within an oak wreath against a stippled ground on each side, and rounded ivory grips pierced through the pommel for a plaited bullion and red cord sword-knot (frayed and incomplete), in original black leather scabbard (crazed) with gilt-brass mounts including locket with maker's name and address on a shield on one side, the suspension mounts each cast and chased with a band of oak leaves and acorns, and with two suspension rings (gilding worn)
