With slightly curved bright blade double-edged towards the point and etched with foliated strapwork, shamrocks, and crowned 'GRV' monogram above crossed branches of laurel and palm, regulation gilt-mounted hilt comprising quillons cast with foliage centred on a wreath enclosing a silvered shamrock on each side, ivory grip-scales each retained by two transverse rivets with floret heads, and pommel pierced for the original plaited bullion and red cord sword-knot, in original black leather scabbard with gilt mounts, the locket and suspension mount cast and chased with a band of acorns and oak leaves, and each with suspension ring retaining its leather and brass sword-belt buckle cast and chased with lion-masks, and in fine condition
