With curved fullered Hungarian trophy blade (some surface rust and staining) double-edged towards the point and etched on both sides of the forte with an eagle above a standing male figure in contemporary costume and inscribed in Latin on one side 'Vincere aut mo Hungaria', 'Pro Fide A Patri', and 'In Der Spesmea', 'Fide, sed Cui, Vide' on the other, regulation brass hilt cast and chased with laurel decoration and comprising knuckle-guard extending to form a downcurved ring quillon and engraved 'For Valour' in Russian on each side, the quillon stamped with maker's mark on top, pommel with cypher of Nicholas II in an oval on the back, threaded ovoidal cap originally fitted with red enamel badge of the Order of St. Anne fourth class (missing), and ribbed horn grip, in original wood-lined leather scabbard with brass locket, chape and suspension mount, the latter with suspension ring (some wear and patination overall)
