An Indonesian Bronze Lantaka, And An Indonesian Cannon
The First 18th/19th Century

The first of characteristic form, with two-stage sighted barrel cast with bands of triangular panels of scrollwork at the flared foliate muzzle, mid-section and breech, the last incorporating the back-sight, tubular cascabel, and peg mount cast with foliage on each side; the second with tapering three-stage barrel with moulded muzzle, turned breech with applied 'VOC' cypher of the Dutch East India Company, roughly cast dolphin lifting handles, and small trunnions: on wooden carriage with cast brass spoked wheels (2)
