A Turkish Jambiya
19th Century

With curved double-edged blade with central fuller over most of its length on each side, the forte damascened in silver and gold with panels of foliage framing Arabic inscriptions on each side, the waisted hilt and wood-lined scabbard entirely covered with silvered metal embossed and chased with flowering foliage and acorns along the inside, the outside gilt and decorated with filigree set with numerous pieces of fluted coral and small turquoise beads (some losses), and with foliate suspension loop
