A Caucasian Kindjal
19th Century

With bright double-edged blade of flattened diamond section sharply tapering at the point, and characteristic waisted dark horn grip with basal mount and two faceted studs on the outside damascened with gold foliate decoration, in original wooden scabbard covered in black shagreen with pierced steel suspension mount and chape each damascened with symmetrical gold foliage, the latter with faceted spherical terminal (by-knife missing)
