A Large Caucasian Quaddara
Probably Late 19th Century

With broad single-edged blade cut with three fullers along the back-edge on each side, the forte on one side damascened in gold with a foliate panel containing Arabic calligraphy, and on the other with a panel containing flowering foliage terminating in a bird's head beneath a deeply struck mark, and waisted hilt with later rounded wooden grips secured by two transverse iron rivets with rounded heads, in its wooden scabbard covered in black leather with deep locket and chape each decorated with silver damascening
