A 100-Bore Matchlock Pistol
Signed Shigeaki saku, Edo Period

With octagonal sighted barrel the flared octagonal muzzle decorated with lines of gold and silver nunome, the remainder decorated overall in gold and silver with a band of key-pattern, Mount Fuji, a dragon amidst clouds, stylised waves and a Hiki-mon, silvered brass back-action lock engraved and punched with foliage, the iron serpentine inlaid in silver and gold with a Tama, silvered brass pan-cover en suite with the lock, cherrywood full stock (fore-end with minor repair on one side), silvered-brass button trigger, and wooden ramrod
