An Unusual 13-Bore Tutenag-Mounted Left-Hand Lock Flintlock Sporting Gun
By Ketland & Co. Of Birmingham, Circa 1785

With rebrowned two-stage barrel (worn) with silver spider fore-sight, engraved tang, signed flat bevelled lock with roller (cock replaced), figured full stock (some bruising and repairs) carved with a shell in relief behind the barrel tang, chequered grip, border engraved mounts decorated with rocailles and foliage comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, vacant escutcheon and side-nail plate each with beadwork border, turned ramrod-pipes, and later horn-tipped ramrod (worn, steel parts pitted), indistinct Private Birmingham proof marks and maker's mark
