A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss
Mid-Late 18th Century

With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle and signed 'Barber' along the breech, plain tang, border engraved flat bevelled lock (action defective) struck with maker's mark R.S crowned in a rectangle, figured full stock (finish missing as a result of water damage, butt wormed on one side, minor repairs), brass mounts, and later brass-tipped ramrod (steel parts worn and rust patinated), London proof marks, barrelsmith's mark of Joseph Buckmaster
