An 18-Bore D.B. Percussion Sporting Gun
By G. Clough, Bath, Circa 1820

Converted from flintlock, with rebrowned twist sighted barrels with raised rib, breeches signed by the maker and with platinum line between, platinum plugs (one incomplete), engraved tang, signed flat bevelled locks each engraved with foliage and trophies, the latter at the stepped tail, figured half-stock (some bruising) with chequered grip, steel mounts engraved with martial trophies and foliage, comprising butt-plate and large trigger-guard, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, vacant silver escutcheon, and original brass-mounted ramrod: in a leather-trimmed canvas slip, Birmingham proof marks (2)
