An Extremely Rare Greek 20-Bore Three-Barrelled Flintlock Revolver
By Athanasion, Early 19th Century

With blued hand-rotated two-stage barrels each signed in silver in Greek along the breech, retained by two white-metal barrel bands each with cusped edges and carrying a ramrod-pipe, the forward one with three fore-sights, and revolving within a brass band at the breech decorated with pairs of heart and kidney-shaped piercings, border engraved tang decorated with foliage, border engraved rounded lock signed in Greek and chiselled with a bearded human face in the tail, chiselled border engraved cock, and roller, figured fore-stock plates between each barrel secured by the rear barrel band, figured rounded butt inlaid with waved silver wire borders and a design of asymmetrical scrollwork behind the barrel tang (minor losses), cast and chased white-metal mounts comprising rounded side-plate with a trophy of arms, spur trigger-guard with flowers on the bow, the sprung hinged forward part locking and releasing the barrels, spurred pommel with flowerheads and foliage on each side and moustachioed grotesque mask cap, horn-tipped wooden ramrod, and some original finish
