A Cased Pair Of Continental Working Miniature Percussion Box-Lock Pistols
Mid-19th Century

With turn-off barrels engraved with line decoration, actions and tangs engraved with rocailles and foliage, the latter each with ring for suspension, folding triggers, rounded ivory butts, and nearly all their original dull grey finish: in original fitted ebonised wooden case lined in deep blue velvet with accessories comprising combined bullet mould, nipple-key and barrel-key, turnscrew with turned ivory handle, turned ivory powder-flask and turned circular ivory box, the exterior of the lid with shaped brass escutcheon engraved with owner's monogram 'F D' in gothic script against a ground of brass quatrefoils
