With tapering double-edged blade with short central fuller on each side of the forte incised 'Anno 1627', iron 'mortuary' hilt (loose) with solid guard roughly chiselled with shells and foliage framing a human face on each side, slender knuckle-guard connected to two side bars by single scrolled bars each with central swelling and originally screwed to the chiselled globular pommel, and original spirally fluted wooden grip (slightly damaged, wire binding missing, painted with pitch overall)
