An English Broadsword
Circa 1640-50

With tapering double-edged blade with central fuller along each side of the forte, one side incised with running wolf mark, iron 'mortuary' hilt comprising guard elaborately pierced and chiselled with scrolling foliage terminating in a monster's head on each side, drawn-up to a slender knuckle-guard connected by a scrolled bar on each side to side-bars and screwed to the pommel (two screws replaced), the side-bars and large globular pommel chiselled en suite with the guard, and wire-bound wooden grip (some pitting overall)
