With earlier broad double-edged blade etched and gilt (some wear) with a panel containing Old Testament text in German below the figure of the Virgin Mary on a cloud on one side, and the Crucifixion on the other, hilt comprising steel quillons formed as the head and fore-legs of a boar and stag respectively each being attacked by a hound, lion-head pommel, and swelling reeded horn grip
