The first with double-edged blade (some light pitting) with double fuller forming a medial ridge along each side, hilt comprising later short recurved quillons, gadrooned pommel-cap with large button finial, and natural staghorn grip, in original steel scabbard open along each side, lined in black leather and incised with pairs of chevroned lines at the locket and chape, the former with suspension rings; the second with bright single-edged blade etched with a stag shooting scene in a wooded landscape, a boar, a hound, stags and hinds, cast and chased brass hilt comprising shell-guard with hounds bringing a stag to bay, quillons each formed as a hound's head with a deer's hoof in its mouth, pommel-cap with acorn finial, and natural staghorn grip with three acorns on one side, in original black leather scabbard with brass locket and chape, the former with pocket for a by-knife, the grip en suite with the hilt (2)
