A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss
Signed H. Nock, Early 19th Century

With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle and fitted with spring bayonet above, octagonal breech engraved with starbursts on the three top flats behind the turned girdle, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock with rainproof pan and roller (top of steel chipped), figured full stock (some bruising, fore-end indented along the top edge on each side) with chequered grip, mounts comprising brass butt-plate engraved with a martial trophy and foliage on the tang, engraved tutenag trigger-guard cast and chased with a martial trophy on the bow and finial, turned brass ramrod-pipes, vacant silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and associated brass-tipped ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
