A 25-Bore Snider Patent Breech-Loading Sporting Rifle
By Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, Circa 1870

With rebrowned twist sighted barrel rifled with five grooves and signed in front of the folding leaf back-sight calibrated from 100 to 300 yards, reblued foliate scroll engraved pivoting breech with sprung thumb-catch, scroll engraved tang, signed lock (hammer spur missing) and mounts, the latter including butt-plate with hinged circular trap cover, ovoidal grip-plate, and trigger-plate with late form of pineapple finial, figured half-stock with chequered pistol-grip and fore-end, vacant white-metal escutcheon, sling mounts, and shaped dark horn fore-end cap (some wear overall), London proof marks
