By Mole, Birmn., Dated 1873

Of silvered steel, with stout blade of flattened diamond section engraved with owner's crest and monogram above the date on one side, a compressed faceted moulding beneath, flat crescentic axe-blade and beak-shaped fluke each pierced and engraved with two monster's heads, and tapering socket of octagonal section, on original wooden staff of circular section with blue silk tassel, and conical steel shoe
