Footnotes
Walter Churchey 1747-1805 was a Brecon Lawyer and Methodist correspondent of John Wesley. The History of the County of Brecknock records "Walter Churchey the Elder was a poet of some ability .... when the Great Admiral Nelson visited Brecon, he sang his praises in an ode which the gallant seaman suitably acknowledged in a letter of thanks" This meeting presumably took place during Nelson's procession of Wales with Sir William & Emma Hamilton July-September 1802.
