A portrait miniature of Napoleon I (1769-1821), Emperor of the French (1804-1814/15), wearing the uniform of the chasseurs-à-cheval, red-piped dark green coat with red collar and gold epaulettes, red sash, bade and silver breast star of the Imperial French Order of the Legion d'Honneur and badge of the Imperial French Order of the Iron Crown of Lombardy

Footnotes

Parent was an important miniaturist at the court of Napoleon, painting numerous miniatures of the Emperor and his generals. He worked in Paris, exhibiting at the Salon from 1822 to 1833.
A similarly signed and dated portrait of Napoleon by Parent was in the Bernard Franck Collection, Paris.
