Danburite, originally discovered in Danbury, Connecticut, is generally a brilliant, colorless gem when faceted. The best danburites are found in the deposits of Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Large, clean danburite gems are sought after by collectors and can be used as a substitute for diamonds in jewelry. This large colorless, cushion-shaped gem has checkerboard faceting and good clarity. Weighing approximately 41.17 carats and measuring 25.0 x 17.5 x 14.0mm.
