Vesuvianite Necklace

Africa
Vesuvianite, also known as Idocrase, was originally found on the volcano, Mt. Vesuvius, hence its name. Vesuvianite, a rare and beautiful green-colored mineral, is of interest to mineral collectors. Individual gems faceted from is crystals are usually very small. These large briolette-cut beads of brilliant olive-green vesuvianite are large for the species. The three strands which form this elegant necklace are accented with 18K yellow gold spacers and finished with an 18K gold clasp. Length 15in.
