Fire Opal and Diamond Brooch

by Casa Vhernier
One of the premier manufacturers based in the jewelry making center of Valenza, Italy, La Casa Vhernier was established in 1984 by its owner, a refined art collector and entrepreneur, Carlo Traglio. Over the past two decades the name has become synonymous with glamour and innovation, with their production of highly evocative pieces that are both timeless and elegant. Vhernier jewelry embodies a certain spirit of casual chic, with a fondness for the juxtaposition of materials in an unorthodox way which gives the collection its special and unique appeal. This imaginative brooch was designed in the form of a koi fish. Carved from solid orange Mexican fire opal, the dorsal and lateral fins are accented with approximately 0.75 carats of pavé-set diamonds. A layer of emerald, seen through the orange opal, has been used to render the tail fin. Mounted in 18K gold, signed Vhernier.
