Sillimanite is a polymorph with two other minerals: kyanite and andalusite. A polymorph is a mineral that shares the same chemistry but a different crystal structure with another, or other, minerals. Sillimanite is the rarest of the three trimorphs. It is rare to see sillimanite in this unusual color. This oval cabochon, exhibits a warm chocolate brown color and an excellent central eye. With a hardness of 7.5 it is highly suitable to be mounted as jewelry. Weighing approximately 24.61 carats and measuring 18.2 x 15.3 x 10.8mm.
