An ore of lithium mined since the 1850s, one of the main sources of lepidolite was originally San Diego County where it was found in association with tourmaline. The present sphere originates from a newer source, Mozambique. A deep lavender hue with some black and brown veining and pearly luster are the characteristic features of this attractive sphere. Diameter 4 in.
