Broken Hill
New South Wales, Australia
Broken Hill is known as the “Silver City” as both silver and copper have been discovered there. Its azurite crystals are known for rivaling those of Tsumeb, and like the Namibian source, its mines have now been closed down. The present specimen has well-formed lustrous crystals arranged in two radiating sprays with a small associate of malachite to the reverse side. Measuring 2 x 1 ½ x 1in.
