Oligocene
Chiapas, Mexico
From the Mayan amber mines comes this fabulous, fully polished display piece of rare color amber. Intense waves of green shimmer in a brilliant golden matrix of amber that rests on a dark red base; local collectors call them 'stop lights' because of the color combination. This large, jewel quality specimen contains plant fragments from the amber forest, and a beautiful, wavy interior. A very rare specimen. Weighing approximately 62 grams and measuring 2 ½ x 2 x 2 ¼in.
