A rare Chelsea figure of a dancing peasant

circa 1755
modelled by Joseph Willems, standing with his left leg and right arm raised, wearing a blue waistcoat, pale lemon breeches and a black hat, the square base with a tree trunk and applied flower sprigs, 20.7cm, red anchor mark (base and some fingers restored)
