A rare South Staffordshire enamel snuff box

circa 1775
of rectangular shape with gilt metal mounts and a hinged cover, the cover painted with a group of figures at the harbourside, some classical ruins to the left, the sides with flower sprays, reserved on a blue ground enamelled in white with a diaper design, the interior printed in sepia with three figures taking tea within a comfortably furnished interior, 6.9cm (some overpainting)
