A South Staffordshire enamel etui

circa 1770
of oval section with gilt metal mounts and a hinged cover, unusually painted with a lady and gentleman seated within an interior, the reverse with figures in a rural landscape, the cover with floral panels, reserved on a pink ground within gilded borders, 9.7cm (restored area to the cover, a few fine cracks)
