in white bone china, modelled in the form of an iron, a cat balanced precariously on the overhead handle, looking down at a mouse nibbling a carrot forming the cover knop, the iron moulded with a border of mice and flowerheads, 18cm high, impressed factory marks and date code, applied registration lozenge (handle broken and restored, other restoration) (2)

The same model coloured with majolica glazes was sold in these rooms, 8th December, 2004, lot 398. The shape has been attributed to Dr Christopher Dresser who was actively involved with design within the Minton factory.
