Footnotes
This important plaque was decorated shortly after Louis Solon moved to England and joined Minton. It appears to be in a form of hard paste porcelain, similar to Solon's previous work executed in France. As such, this should be compared with the slightly earlier plaque from the Minton Museum, sold in these rooms 23rd July 2002, lot 192.
