Footnotes
An entry made in the Minton estimate book in January 1906 records that Solon worked on these vases, which he named 'Tied' and 'Loose', in December 1903. As Solon left Minton's in March 1904, they are amongst the last pieces that he produced there before he became freelance. In April 1907, the vases were purchased by Herbert Eccles who called them 'Cupids flying kites'
