A pair of Derby Crown Porcelain vases and covers

dated 1893
of elaborate shape with pierced foliate scroll handles and pedestal stems, the covers with crown-like leaf and flower knops, decorated with flower sprays richly gilt in two shades of tooled gold on a blue ground, the borders with raised gilt patterns, the handles, neck and pedestal stems entirely gilt, 39.4cm, printed marks in red, incised shape number 551 (one cover with minute chips and crack to one leaf, fine crack to one foot, minute chips to join of one pedestal to body) (4)
