painted en grisaille by John Pennington with a figure of Hope standing on a rocky seashore, her left arm raised and an anchor at her feet, looking out to the stormy sea and a ship in full sail, within a classical border in underglaze blue and gold, 24.4cm, crescent mark, crown and 'Flight' in underglaze blue (a few minute patches of wear to the gilding on the inner border)
