A set of twelve Bristol (probably Redcliff Back) delft plates

circa 1760-70
all painted in blue with a Chinese garden scene, including peonies, bamboo and a fence, the border with bianco-sopra-bianco leaves, flowers and pinecones, 22.6cm diam. (one cracked, one chipped, typical wear to rims)

Footnotes

For a similar plate in the Victoria and Albert Museum, see Michael Archer, Delftware, B97 and B98, p. 166. It is exceptional to find a fully matching set of twelve delft plates surviving together.
