An exceptional early Derby teapot and cover

circa 1758-60
of reeded shape, applied with a scroll handle, the spout with acanthus leaf moulding at the tip, the cover with an acorn knop, finely painted with charming chinoiseries in bright colours with gilt details, three ladies playing with a boy in a garden, the reverse with a man with a vase of flowers, large insects overhead, the cover with matching motifs, 13cm high (chip to inner flange of cover only) (2)
