A Worcester 'Blind Earl' sweetmeat dish

circa 1756
the lobed circular dish moulded with a leafy spray of rosebuds, the handle a curved stem, painted with 'pencilled' decoration of a Chinaman standing under a parasol in a garden, a bird perched on his hand, a scrolling diaper border around the rim, 15.9cm
