A Worcester butter tub, cover and stand

circa 1770
of oval shape with rustic handles applied with flowers and leaves at the terminals, painted in Kakiemon style with panels of chrysanthemum and prunus, reserved on a blue scale ground within gilt scrolled borders, the applied flowers picked out in bright colours, stand 19.2cm, square marks (a few minor losses to petals of applied flowers) (3)
