A rare Worcester tea canister and cover

circa 1785
of reeded ovoid shape with a flower finial, painted in bright blue with the 'Caughley Temple' pattern (I.B.39), the busy Chinese scene hand-painted with remarkable attention to detail, with further painted 'Fitzhugh' borders and gilded rims, 17cm (chip to rim of cover) (2)
