An interesting figure of Autumn

circa 1755
attributed to Vauxhall, modelled seated wearing a yellow bonnet, yellow skirt and pink bodice decorated with bows, a basket of grapes in her lap, on a gilt scroll-edged base, 12cm (neck restored, minor losses to extremities)

This model, together with three companions, is illustrated by Bernard Watney, Longton Hall Porcelain, plate 30. Recent research, however, favours a Vauxhall re-attribution for this series of small Seasons, see the footnote to the following lot
