A Worcester saucer dish

the porcelain circa 1765-70
decorated at a later date, the centre in Teniers style with two rustic figures seated at a table, the man drinking from a glass, within a pink scale border edged with gilt scrollwork, 17.6cm

Footnotes

Painted by the same hand as the well-known mug in The Museum of Worcester Porcelain, illustrated by John Sandon, The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain, colour plate 73, p 297. Similar decoration is also found on Caughley and Neale porcelains and is likely to have been added in the nineteenth century.
