A Chelsea plate

circa 1760
the broad rim moulded with overlapping scrolls picked out in gold, finely painted with delicate landscapes in shades of green and black, the centre with birds in flight, 24.5cm, gold anchor mark (some small patches of misfiring)

Footnotes

Similar fine quality painting is found on porcelain independently painted in London. The continental style of the landscapes may suggest an artist with a link to Tournai
