A Chelsea dish

circa 1758
of lobed oval shape, the sides basketweave moulded, overlapping vine leaves at the ends forming the handles with their stalks and all picked out in colours, the sides further painted with cut and whole fruit, insects scattered around, the rim picked out in a brown line, 28cm (minor rim chips and wear)
