A Chelsea Imari lobed dish and its Japanese prototype

circa 1752-58 and late 17th century
richly decorated in 'Brocade' pattern, the central flowering chrysanthemum spray flanked by a broad border of radiating blue ground panels alternating with stylised flower sprays, interspersed with mons, all richly gilt, 27cm, (Chelsea dish with rim chip, both with minor wear to gilding) (2)
